Clear About What We Collect
and Why

FBN Resources is a data business — so we take privacy seriously, both yours and the privacy considerations around the public-record data we work with. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

We never sell your personal information
CCPA / CPRA compliant
Last updated: May 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how FBN Resources (“FBN Resources,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website, create an account, start a free trial, subscribe to one of our plans, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”). By using our Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Section 01

Who we are

FBN Resources provides Fictitious Business Name (FBN) filing data and related business-formation lead data, sourced from official county and state public records, to business-to-business subscribers across the United States.

FBN Resources is a wholly owned subsidiary of ProfitWeave, LLC. References to FBN Resources in this policy include ProfitWeave, LLC where it acts as the controlling parent of the business. Our principal place of business is in Loomis, California.

For any privacy questions, you can reach us at hello@fbnresources.com. See the Contact us section for full details.

Section 02

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information we collect automatically, and information we receive from third parties.

Information you provide to us

  • Account information — your name, business name, email address, and password when you register, start a trial, or create an account.
  • Billing information — billing name, address, and the subscription plan you select. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor and are described below.
  • Communications — the contents of messages you send us through our contact form, by email, or in support requests, including any information you choose to include.
  • Preferences — the counties, regions, or data feeds you select, and your delivery and notification settings.

Information we collect automatically

  • Usage data — pages viewed, features used, links clicked, downloads, log-in activity, and the dates and times of your visits.
  • Device and connection data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — as described in the Cookies & tracking section below.

Information from third parties

  • Payment confirmations from our payment processor (for example, confirmation that a charge succeeded, and limited card metadata such as the last four digits and card brand).
  • Analytics and security providers that help us understand site usage and protect against fraud and abuse.

Important: The personal information described in this section relates to you—our website visitors, account holders, and subscribers. It is separate from the public-record filing data that makes up our product, which is addressed in Section 04.

Section 03

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including delivering the data feeds and reports you subscribe to.
  • Create and manage your account, process your free trial, and authenticate your access.
  • Process payments, manage subscriptions and renewals, and send billing-related notices.
  • Respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, and send service-related communications.
  • Send you product updates, and—where permitted—marketing communications you can opt out of at any time.
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve the performance, security, and usability of the Services.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues.
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms and agreements.
Section 04

Public-records data in our products

Our core product is data drawn from official government public records—primarily Fictitious Business Name (FBN) and related business-formation filings published by county clerks and state agencies. This data may include the names, business names, mailing addresses, and filing details of newly registered businesses and their registrants.

We obtain this data from records that the relevant government authorities have already made publicly available. We do not create this data, and individuals listed in these filings are generally not our customers or account holders.

We compile, clean, de-duplicate, and format this public-record data and make it available to our business subscribers for lawful business purposes such as outreach, prospecting, and marketing. Subscribers are responsible for using the data in compliance with all applicable laws, including telemarketing, email, and do-not-contact regulations.

If you are listed in a public filing within our product and have a question or request regarding that listing, please contact us at hello@fbnresources.com. We will review your request and respond consistent with applicable law. Note that because this information originates from official government records, we may be limited in what we can change, and the underlying public record will remain available from the original government source.

Section 05

Cookies & tracking

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, measure site traffic, and improve the Services. Cookies fall into a few categories:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function, such as maintaining your session and securing the paywall and member areas.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Preference cookies — remember choices you make, such as your selected counties or settings.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Services—such as logging in or accessing member content—from working properly. Where required by law, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

Section 06

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your personal information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers — with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, website hosting, email delivery, analytics, and security, under contracts that limit their use of the information.
  • Corporate affiliates — with our parent company, ProfitWeave, LLC, and affiliated entities, for the purposes described in this policy.
  • Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of FBN Resources, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your direction — when you ask us to share your information or otherwise consent to the sharing.
Section 07

Third-party services

We rely on trusted third-party providers to operate the Services. These include:

  • Payment processing — we use Stripe to process payments. When you enter payment card details, that information is collected and processed directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy; we do not store your full card number on our systems.
  • Website and membership platform — our site runs on WordPress with a membership/paywall layer that manages account access and subscriptions.
  • Email delivery — we use an email-sending service to deliver transactional and account-related messages.
  • Analytics and security — we use analytics and website-security tools to understand usage and protect the site.

Each provider processes information under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third-party service you interact with, including Stripe's privacy policy.

Section 08

Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it. Billing and transaction records may be retained longer where required for tax, accounting, or legal purposes.

Section 09

Data security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and a website security layer. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.

Section 10

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your information.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@fbnresources.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Section 11

California rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you specific rights regarding your personal information, including the right to know what we collect, the right to request deletion or correction, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined under the law.

We do not sell or share your personal information within the meaning of the CCPA/CPRA. The categories of personal information we collect, our purposes for collecting it, and the parties we disclose it to are described throughout this policy.

You may submit a request to know, delete, or correct your information by emailing hello@fbnresources.com. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights.

Section 12

Children's privacy

Our Services are intended for businesses and individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age defined by applicable local law). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Section 13

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Services. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
